Stony Peaks begins about 128 blocks from spawn, so you can have a mountain base within a short walk of the savanna start. An Ancient City sits about 313 blocks west, at (-368, 48), which makes an early deep-dark trip realistic. Two villages lie roughly 450 and 570 blocks out. Badlands, forest, plains and a river all sit within about 400 blocks, while the nearest stronghold is far off, about 1516 blocks.
